Gien - Grains de riz A very elegant textured pattern on cream coloured china. Marked Gien/Pont aux choux/Grains de riz mark on the underside. This pattern is still available, but nowhere will the prices be as interesting as on this page.

COLL-1196-01 Large pink and white roses decorate the white china framed by gold leaf tracery. The scalloped rims are trimmed in gold. Marked Collingwood/1196 on the underside. $28

 

These fluted cups and saucers are produced by Old Royal China in England.

ALVA-A

A pair of candle-holders with pink porcelain roses on white embossed china highlighted by gold trim. These are are Bavarian in origin. They measure 2 1/2 inches high and and 2 1/2 inches accross at the base.

While there is no identifying information on the underside of either of these pieces, its original owner attributes their origins to Portugal. He successfully used the leaf platter as an underplate for the fish-tureen. Both items look stunning seperately or together.
	A very impressive large figural fish-soup tureen complete with cover and ladle. It measures a whopping 17 inches long, 8 inches across and seven inches from the base to the top of the handle. The colours are hand-painted. $145
	POFE-15 A very impressive large leaf platter measuring 18 by 15 while the rim at the highest point stands 3 1/2 inches from the base. $45

Decorative plates

These lovely decorative plates are often placed on the wall as part of a collection.

BOCO-10

A very elegant wall plate with two bands of burgundy and a a raised Wedgwood type border. The centre panel contains a large floral pattern. The background glaze is a cream colour. The mark on the underside reads "Booths, Silicon China, Made in England, Corinthian, Brit. Reg. No 832171". There is also a red hand-written mark "6743 F".

OACO-37. There is some question as to the intended use for this rectangular dish. Is it to rest spoons that have been dipped in the coffee/tea or to hold cookies, mints, etc.? In any case, this dish produced by Oakley China Ltd is lovely. The pattern resembles the "Cornflower" pattern made by Hammersley. It measures 8 1/2 by 1 3/4 inches.

	Rosenthal Porcelain and Glass's Thomas line of pottery is in a very similar deep red colour to Villeroy & Boch's Cordoba pattern.

JM-70.7	Large milk jug measuring 9 1/4 inches high by 9 1/4 inches across from the spout to the handle. Marked Johnson Maddock on the underside.	$55

St. Andrews: Signature Platinum The white china is decorated with a platinum band on the rim and handle. The hallmark on the underside reads "Hand made and hand decorated - Bone china - Signature Platinum - St.Andrews".
