Cleaning bone china dishesSep 08, 2014 | By Laurier Beaudoin | 0 Comments
Cleaning your bone china dishes needs only warm water and a mild soap. It is not suggested to use an abrasive product.
Certain china patterns have a glaze that is resistant to damage while being washed in a dish-washer. However, the strength of most cleaning products used in dish-washers can cause loss of lustre on the glaze, colour fading or loss of gold trim in many of the older patterns.
If you are not certain that your pattern is conceived to resist the cleaning products, you can nevertheless use a dish-washer if you do so only once in a while, especially if you use a milder product or if you do not put any cleaner in the dish-washer. It is also suggested to avoid using very high temperatures.
If you have found a cleaning product for the dish-washer that works particularly well, please share it with all of us.
